At Smith, the arts have a long history of helping students figure out where they belong, cultivate and foster community, think creatively, and plan fulfilling careers in a number of exciting, dynamic fields.

SmithArts—and the Smith Office for the Arts—aims to highlight opportunities to engage with art and artists on campus, through events, installations, performances, and more.

“Who can resist the combined allure of grandeur, visual frivolity, and drama?” asked Rex Tans ’25, costume designer for the theatre department’s production of Marie Antoinette. Not the Smith community! Each performance of its four-night run sold out, a testament to the work, coordination, and love put into the production by all involved.
